Membership

Fellow Members (FHKIPE)

Fellow Members are those Members who shall be at least 35 years of age, Qualified Engineers and have achieved positions of responsibility recognized by the Institute to have contributed significantly toward the engineering discipline. Fellow Members shall be entitled to voting rights as are hereinafter set out, hold office in the Institute, and inspect the books and accounts of the Institute (subject to the By-Laws, these A1iicles and the Ordinance).

Professional Members (MHKIPE)

Professional Members are those Members who shall be at least 25 years of age, having obtained an accredited or recognised degree or the equivalent in an acceptable engineering, construction, management, planning or technological discipline, having received adequate training, having sufficient responsible experience, and having successfully completed a professional assessment conducted by the Institute or an equivalent that is recognized by the Institute.

Professional Members shall be entitled to voting rights as are hereinafter set out, hold office in the Institute, and inspect the books and accounts of the Institute (subject to the By-Laws, these Articles and the Ordinance).

Associate Members (AHKIPE)

Associate Members are those Members who shall be at least 23 years of age, having obtained a diploma or ce1iificate accredited or recognised by the Institute, or an acceptable equivalent in a recognised engineering, construction, management, planning or technological discipline, having received adequate practical training, having appropriate responsible experience, and having successfully completed a professional assessment conducted by the Institute or an equivalent that is recognized by the Institute.

Associate Members shall not be entitled to receive notice of or to attend or vote at any General Meetings, hold office in the Institute, and inspect the books and accounts of the Institute ( except where such right of inspection is provided or is required to be provided under the By-Laws, these Articles or the Ordinance).

Graduate Members (GHKIPE)

Graduate Members are those Members who have obtained an accredited bachelor degree or an acceptable equivalent in a recognised engineering, or an acceptable equivalent in a recognised engineering, construction, management, planning or technological discipline, or having obtained an accredited or recognized diploma, certificate, associate degree or an acceptable equivalent in a recognized engineering, construction, management, planning or technological discipline and having completed or are undetiaking practical training through mentoring.

Graduate Members shall not be entitled to receive notice of or to attend or vote at any General Meetings, hold office in the Institute, and inspect the books and accounts of the Institute ( except where such right of inspection is provided or is required to be provided under the By-Laws, these Articles or the Ordinance).

Student Members (SHKIPE)

Student Members are those Members who are undetiaking or have completed an engineering, construction, management, planning or technological programme accredited or recognised by the Institute, which may be a degree or a diploma or a cetiificate.

Student Members shall not be entitled to receive notice of or to attend or vote at any General Meetings, hold office in the Institute, and inspect the books and accounts of the Institute ( except where such right of inspection is provided or is required to be provided under the By-Laws, these Atiicles or the Ordinance).
